The CSDA Annual Conference and Exhibitor Showcase is the one conference special district leaders can’t afford to miss!  It is the most densely packed educational and networking experience available to special districts.

You are only able to make room reservations at the CSDA rate at either of the Annual Conference hotels  using the link provided to you after you register for the 2021 CSDA Annual Conference & Exhibitor Showcase. If you receive phone calls or emails from any other organization, DO NOT RESRERVE YOUR ROOMS THROUGH THEM. CSDA has been made aware of fraudulent activities by an organization that is attempting to solicit hotel reservations and acquire credit card information from CSDA conference registrants.


HOTEL ROOM RESERVATIONS: The CSDA room rate at Monterey Marriott is $214 and the Portola Hotel is $219 plus tax, single or double occupancy. You will receive a link to make your hotel reservation AFTER you have registered for the conference. The room reservation cut-off is August 9, 2021; however, space is limited and may sell out before this date.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be in writing and received by CSDA no later than August 13, 2021. All cancellations received by this date will be refunded less a $75 processing fee. There will be no refunds for cancellations made after August 13, 2021. Substitutions are acceptable and must be done in writing no than later August 20, 2021. Please submit any cancellation notice or substitution request to meganh@csda.net or fax to 916-520-2465.

Presenter:  Scott Carroll, CSDM, Costa Mesa Sanitary District; Melissa Asher, CPS HR A practical career development workshop for senior executives and emerging leaders in special districts. This action oriented workshop includes group and panel discussions on the journey, roles and skill sets of a general manager, identifying GM opportunities including positioning yourself for executive recruitment, developing positive relations with the board, staff and peer agency executives, and leadership practices. Registration fee includes continental breakfast and lunch. Limited class size, register early!

Presenter:  Brent Ives, BHI Consulting  Optimizing District performance is always a goal.  This pre-conference workshop provides a systematic five-step approach to do so. The five steps that will be presented in detail are: - A Frank Assessment of District Position, Status and Outlook - An Realistic Look at Communications Between the Board and GM - An Honest Appraisal of the Third Rails of your Organizational Model - Policies that Support Best Practices - Clearly Setting the Organizational Vector  Your instructor, Brent Ives, is a well-known organizational consultant to special districts in California through his practice, BHI Management Consulting. Brent brings background in management practice and governance with 23 years of experience as an elected official and 18 years as an Organizational consultant to public agencies.  He will use in-class exercises and assessment tools for each step for assessment purposes. Come prepared to have open dialogue about how to get and keep your Districts performing at the highest levels. Recommended for at least two Board members and their GM to attend
