*This is an in-person workshop, to be held at Southgate Recreation and Park District in Sacramento, CA.
You may have heard of open data and maybe your agency is doing it. Open data is a great start and is critical to build the public’s trust, but it's just the tip of the iceberg.
Join CSDA and Tyler Technologies for a free half-day workshop on how to leverage your agency’s data to improve relations with the public, your agency's internal customers and to improve program performance. Don’t worry – you will not need to have any expertise in databases or know any software; this collaborative session is designed for special district managers and will cover:
•Open data – what is it, why is it important, what to do with it
•Leveraging your agency’s data to improve performance and tell a story
•Interactive discussion – using your data to solve issues across agency lines
This workshop will be presented by Justin Bruce, Director of Client Services at Tyler Technologies’ Data & Insights Division (fka Socrata). Prior to this, he was the founding Director of Innovation and Performance for the City of Jackson, MS, where he helped the city to become a data-driven government. As an expert in government transparency, performance management, and process improvement, he is the perfect leader for the company’s Government Performance Community of Practice, an idea-sharing group of nearly 300 government performance practitioners.
